The School of Dance holds two annual recitals each year

A Christmas Recital in December and a Showcase Recital in June.

About our Christmas Recital:

The School of Dance hosts an annual Christmas show to celebrate the magical season. We keep our Christmas recital simple by having our students perform in their pajamas—no costumes need to be purchased! The recital will feature a diverse range of dance styles, including ballet, tap, hip-hop, and pom.

About our Showcase Recital:

The School of Dance Showcase Recital is the highlight of our season! We love our show and our goal is to make every dancer feel extra special! It is a very important and exciting event for all our dancers!

We will finish the 2024-2025 Season with an end of the year dance recital. Recital week will take place during June. The School of Dance does not charge a Recital Fee. Performance tickets will be sold prior and at the door of the performance. No free tickets will be given - all seats must be purchased. There must be a $0 balance on your account before recital tickets can be purchased. Participation in the recital is not mandatory, but is highly recommended. Students spend a significant amount of time February-May learning recital choreography, as well as performance etiquette and technique. The Recital is a wonderful opportunity for the dancer to grow in courage and confidence. If you decide to opt out of recital, you can still attend your weekly dance class.

Recital FAQs:

Can I take photos/ video record my child onstage?

ABSOLUTELY! You are welcome to take pictures and record your dancer(s) on stage! We do ask that you are considerate of other audience members. The best time to record video’s and take pictures is at Dress Rehearsal. We will have a professional film both nights of the performance. You will be able to order a copy of the Show at our Showcase Recital.

Does my child have to stay for the entire Recital show?

We wholeheartedly encourage all our dancers to stay for the entire Recital show. We would love for all of our dancers to take part in the End Finale, which allows students to celebrate as a family and take their final bows together! With that being said our 3 year old classes always preform first because we know they can get a little antsy sitting in the audience. :)

If I volunteer to help backstage, will I get to see my child perform?

YES! Parents can watch their dancers’ performance(s) from the side of the stage!

Why do we pay for Recital tickets?

There are a lot of expenses associated with putting on a Recital: auditorium rental, scenery & lighting, custodial fees, sound and light technician, insurance, ticket/program printing, etc. These expenses add up! Without admission fees, the studio would not have the means to put on a yearly show. Many Dance Studios charge a recital fee, but we do not; only the cost of tickets!

Are dancers required to wear make-up for the Recital performance?

It’s not required but we encourage a little “stage make-up”. Dancers wear make-up on stage to enhance their facial features, which can be washed-out under the bright stage lighting.
